Programmes for Primary 3 & 4

As your child progresses to Primary 3 and 4, there are more subjects to learn and the focus shifts to mastery of skills and knowledge.

Our curriculum and lessons are designed to ensure that your child is not only able to master the content and techniques included in the MOE syllabus, but is also encouraged to speak up, ask questions, and further explore themes and concepts he or she is interested in via our structured-inquiry learning approach.

Programmes for Primary 3 and Primary 4

Primary 3 & 4 English

  • WRITE ON!

    We get your child interested in writing by inquiring into children’s books, learning best writing and characterisation techniques and how to emulate them
     

  • RAISING READERS

    Our passages incorporated into our curriculum are taken from literary works and non-fiction, exposing your child to different text types while honing their reading comprehension skills and encouraging them to read critically

     

  • MASTERING KEY SKILLS AND TECHNIQUES
    We focus on developing question analysis skills and answering techniques so that your child may tackle different language components with confidence and ease 

     

  • BE HEARD

    Our lessons encourage our children to be active listeners and articulate speakers, developing their own voice and perspective

     

  • BE CURIOUS
    Our students are exposed to a wide range of themes (e.g. sustainability, young game changers) to get them to think beyond the classroom academia

 

Themes and Language Skills

Through the course of our P3P4 English enrichment programme, your child can look forward to learning the following:

Narrative writing

  • Generate plotlines with a conflict and resolution based on given themes and pictures
  • Apply writing techniques including varied sentence structures and slow-motion descriptions to enhance suspense
  • Craft engaging introductions and satisfactory endings

 

Creative writing

  • Gain exposure to different text types and genres (e.g. food reviews)

Reading comprehension skills

  • Analyse key terms in questions
  • Locate clues in the passage
  • Construct relevant answers
  • Grammar topics such as subject-verb agreement, question tags and sentence synthesis, including reported speech
  • In-class discussions and presentations (e.g. discuss about the consequences of one’s actions)

  • Stimulus-based conversation and read aloud practices

Primary 3 & 4 Mathematics

Curriculum and lessons have been designed to be aligned with the MOE primary school syllabus and mathematics framework.

 

    • UNDERSTANDING MATH IN THE REAL WORLD
      Weekly investigative problems help your child to see how math applies in real-world situations and are used to familiarise your child with problem-solving heuristics 
    • ENGAGING IN HANDS-ON LEARNING
      We give your child a fun learning experience by using manipulatives, interactive activities and class projects
       
    • USING HEURISTICS
      Your child will learn different methods aligned with the MOE syllabus to tackle problem sums

Our curriculum and lessons have been designed to be in alignment with the MOE primary school syllabus and science framework.

Our lessons are anchored in science literacy: your child is encouraged to think like a scientist, pose questions and derive conclusions just like a scientist would

  • NURTURING CURIOSITY

Lessons are structured around weekly scientific investigations to draw on your child’s desire to explore scientific phenomena and everyday experiences. Inquiry projects transform your child into a young researcher who analyses and synthesises information to present coherent findings

Regular science experiments allow your child to see science in action and develop a deeper appreciation of scientific concepts
